like they did the DSP1100P. The replacement is of course the ($150) FBQ2496. So shop around now and buy the remaining stock if you want to save $50. EDIT 2/23/07 TO UPDATE, supplies of this device are now starting to dry up, in certain countries they're not longer available. If you want one I suggest buying it ASAP

Thomas, I interpret this to mean that in your opinion the new model is not worth the extra cost over the old 1124 for our purpose (IB)?
What about the DEQ2496, what if any benefit would that model give us over the old/new Feedback Destroyers?

The operational difference between the two is that the new one has more filters, 20 per channel vs 12.
If you compare the owners manuals you'll see the DEQ2496 is a completely different animal. If you want all the things it can do it's a pretty good deal. If all you want is a parametric EQ then it's a bit spendy.

Sonnie Parker (author of the BFD guide) is consulting with Behringer on the design of a new subwoofer equalizer tentatively called the BSE2496C. He has started a new discussion and informed Behringer to check in on the response. Please read the focus points at the AVS Forum thread and reply with your suggestions / praise / complaints. www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=7083048Spread the word. The more interest they see at the above thread the faster this will probably get pushed through. ------------------- Jeremy Gillow jgillow@gmail.com

I was gonna buy from this guy but he had terrible communication. No communication for 4 days so I cancelled my best offer and went with someone else.

They may not be coming. I had ordered the BFD from Musician's Friend the day Thomas started this thread. Received the unit a few days later and something was rattling around inside. Rather than take any chances, I returned immediately for new one. Unfortunately, replacement was then "backordered". Expected delivery was pushed back three times and now they have finally canceled the order and refunded my money, saying that the item is discontinued.
Bummer!

Sometimes a rattle is nothing more than a loose screw or an extra screw that fell from the robot arm during assembly...

True enough, but since my system is not installed, yet (and with young kids I don't know when it will be) I did not want to take any chances.
When I called on the phone they said they could replace it. It wasn't until I got the backorder email that I realized I was probably screwed.

I found a Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro locally. Should I assume this will do all that the 1124 can do? It's $120 for a supposedly "never been used" used unit.
And does anyone know if Sonnie Parker has made any progress with Behringer?
Thanks.

No you don't want a graphic equalizer, you want a parametric like the FBQ2496
