Hello, so I am very interested in starting my first HT IB setup. Nothing too fancy, but have a simple LR area and would like to put a IB setup in the room right behind the LR. This is a guest room with a closet right up against the drywall on the backside of the LR entertainment center. I posted over on AVS but cant find any installer to help. I tried a few local "HT" shops but none of them do this sort/amount of custom work. I was thinking maybe 2 manifolds with 2 Fi IB318 V2 subs each. Any suggestions?

Hi,
There's nothing in an IB installation that requires specialized knowledge or training. A handyman or someone that does remodeling should be able to build an IB.
We can provide the specifics for construction of the manifold. Other than that it's just cutting a hole and placing it in the wall.

Thanks Thomas, very good to hear!
I am OK with some cutting of wood, but something like a "Flat Pack" would be the most I would be able to manage myself. I would prefer to have someone build the entire thing, Manifold, Drywall work, and grills. I can spend time doing the speaker wiring, amp install and turning of course.
It sounds like its not very technical so I figured there would be someone in the area that could help but still looking. Would it be worthwhile to have someone pre-fab the manifold and ship to me? Maybe this is not going to save alot of time or money, so not sure?

A manifold is nothing more that a 5 sided box with 2 or 4 holes in it. It's dimensions aren't critical, they're usually based on the stud spacing in the HT and the diameter of the woofers. Due to the weight of the wood it would dramatically increase the cost of the manifold to have it created as a kit and shipped across the country. Most Big Box stores will cut materials to size charging a small fee for each cut. They can make pretty accurate cuts if supervised. The box can be assembled with nails and glue. If one doesn't have access to a router the driver holes can be cut with a jigsaw, they are very inexpensive at Harbor Freight www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/jig-saws.html
