I would like to go from my current 2 15" array set up to 2 22" outie manifold. I realize the 22" Fi's aren't here yet and am willing to wait. If they to not appear by July I will just use 18" instead. Now I would like to future proof this build and set it up to be able to put 4 drivers in it. I have a 27 X 27 opening. I think this should be big enough. Your opinions please?

Yes 27"X27" is large enough.
Thing is we've never explored the operation of very large drivers in an 'outie'.
Depending in the location of the walls with regard to the listening position there's the potential of weird cancellations simply due to the amount of pressure being created.
BTW if you currently have an attic mounted IB why would you change to an outie?

Good question. I have a flat roof that does not give me enough room for an inny. That is why I went with an array to begin with. I have it stoutly braced but it is still vibrating my ceiling. Hence I need to go outie manifold to get the bad boys in and not have vibrating ceiling. My track lighting likes to harmonize from time to time.
