Hi, I am currently using an Art Clean box to convert the unbalanced outputs of my reciever to balanced outputs for my IB amp and my center channel amp.
I will be using (eventually) all pro amps to run all my speakers for my 7.1 setup and I don't wan't to use 4 Clean boxes; not to mention I wouldn't be able to individually adjust gain for each amp, I would have to adjust the gain of both amps connected to each Clean Box at the same time.
Has anybody here used the Behringer DI800 for this (or similar) purpose? Any feedback would be appreciated!

What receiver do you have? Did you try hooking it up directly to the amp to see if there were any issues with gain or noise?

Hmm, I haven't done that with my Mackie. I did hook it up directly to my old Nady, and I had to crank up the gain on the Nady to get good levels....
The reciever is a Marantz SR7400, which will be replaced at some point with, either an Outlaw 997 or Integra 9.8, both of which have balanced pre-outs.
I will give it a shot though, it may work with the Mackie.

It all comes down the the amount of drive voltage needed by the power amps. Prosound amps typically need more drive voltage that consumer amps.
Typically prosound amps are used for subs because they provide a ton of power for cheap. There are few if any home speakers that require same amount of power needed by a sub.
