Greatings from South Africa, I am a newbie here and have read through the FAQ's , recommended Equipment, Robs driver chart etc. I am keen to build me a IB but it seems that none of the recommended drivers are avail here in South AFRICA What we have in abundance is the major brand Car audio subs. But I have read these are are not a good option. What I could do is go with the Kicker S15L7 (15" square) or Kicker SoloX(18" square) as these are on the list and are avail here. Is this a good option or are their some recent model car audio subs from the major car audio guys that I could look into. Any ideas suggestions or plans before I slit my wrists on NOT been able to join the Cult?

Hi,
People independently create the driver lists, and they don't always represent recommended drivers.
I'm not sure why Mike chose put the square Kickers are on his list. I wouldn't recommend square drivers to anyone interested in sound quality. Reason being square drivers can't have linear operation since the pull of the surround isn't equal everywhere on the cone.
I suggest you look around to find locally available round drivers with T/S parameters appropriate to the task.

Thank you Thomas.. How about a link to what parameters are required for a IB driver? I have had a look around here but I cant seem to find, but I am sure these specs must exist on this forum. Thanks again

Thanks again Welcome, and do join us FAQ 9->12 Low fs is in the twenties (or lower ), but a bit higher can work with more eq.
