Hi everyone,
This is my first post here. I feel myself being lured into the cult and am wondering if most folks here are using the 2 or 4 ohm version?

I have four of the 4ohm versions. They are wired for a bridged 4 ohm load on one Behringer EP2500.

The choice is usually based in how many drivers are being used and what load the amp wants to see...

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the response. I am still coming up the learning curve. This is particularly true for what amp I would use. Right now based on what I have researched so far, I am leaning towards 4 Fi 18"ers perhaps 2 innies per manifold. I am planning on blowing out my family room wall into the backyard for a dedicated HT (10x16 wall). It's gonna cost me a kitchen remodel but that's a fair trade. ;D So theoretically I could plan for 2 false walls, one for the IB and one for the AT screen and LCR speakers. Vas could approach or possibly equal 10X. On another note, I have a set of sealed Statements and also a complete BOM for an LCR set of QSC SC-2150 Digital Cinema speakers which have a BR cabinet. Are there any issues with integration with BR cabinets? Let me know if I should move that question to a different forum.
Thanks, Mike

Is the 10'X16' the 'net' interior dimensions after accounting for the false walls? Or are they going to make the room even smaller?
I don't see how anyone could use speakers like the SC-2150 in a smallish room. My experiences with prosound speakers is they like to be driven hard, and sound best a fair distance away from the cabinets. For example, the current system in my family room uses a BMS 4540ND mounted in a DDS ENG-1 waveguide (with Gedde's type foam plug). This combination sounds best starting 20' from the baffle.
Regarding integrating ported boxes with IB subs, it's not a problem as long as the XO point is above the Fb of the port

Sorry, I should have been more clear. 10' by 16' represents HXW. Room will be approximately 24' in length irrespective of any false walls. Hopefully, having 4 Fi 18's behind an AT screen won't be problem. Screen will be approximately 12' from first row, so SC-2150's would have to integrate by then, if not, I've got the Statements. I am planning on having an additional false wall for the IB behind the AT screen. The DBA approach looks interesting. Has anyone here tried that? I was hoping to go ahead and buy the drivers now before prices change which is why I inquired about which version to go with 2 or 4 ohm. I will likely go with the flow and go the EP2500 route for an amp.

The EP2500/4000 will drive 2 ohm loads but it's not really happy doing that....
So I think getting the 2 ohm drivers, wiring them in series to create 4 ohm pairs is the best bet.
