Hi all!
After several years, I've finally gotten to the point where I am ready to cut the holes in my wall and mount my 4 Mach 5 Audio IXL 18's. The question I have is; how do most of you secure the drivers to the wall/studs?
I've looked at the pictures in the FAQ and read about the use of clamps, but I can't tell what most of you who have line arrays did.
Any suggestions?
P.S. Thomas, I did reverse the build and used the rear wall as the mounting place for the array.
Thanks all

When you start a new thread instead of continuing the original one, people don't have any of the background information about your build....
What's the problem?
Use clamps as shown or screws/bolts through the frame of the drivers. Those are the primary options
Did you look at the pictures of line arrays in the photo gallery pages?

Yes, and to be honest, I could not tell what most of the folks were using. I had guessed that most were using screws as I could not tell otherwise from the pics.
So would you recommend the cast pro-sound clamps or screws?

I think most people use the conduit clamps, used to secure conduit to walls. Something like this: Im not a fan of them, but thats strictly for estheics reasons.

Hrmmm. I wonder why most would not just use screws? It would seem to me that this would be much easier and would be a safer means to connect the two. My thought is that a nice snug and secure fit is what is needed.
Is this a relatively minor concern? Am I overthinking this a bit too much?
Thanks all. It's been a long 5 years to get to this point. Can't wait to finally hear this thing.

I have recommended furniture screws in the past. They have large gold heads with a hex socket. Used with T-nuts they hold well without crushing the rubber gasket.
While we are on the subject of arrays I'd like to sound out opinions on driver vibration isolation as practiced by OB fans on Hawthorne Audio. A driver mounting sub baffle is bedded against the real baffle using a firm foam sandwich filler and all held together with Nyloc nuts and machine bolts or screws. I'd like to thank Bob for bringing this concept to my attention.

If you can't see attachments then the people used screws or bolts and their heads are hidden by the rubber gasket. Problem with this is there's not much wood between the woofer cutout and the holes drilled for the frame of the driver.
