Proboards limits the total storage space available for attachments to 200MB. To date the forum has used 42MB When we reach 200MB stored I have to start deleting attachments. Most forums limit the size of the uploaded files to 100KB or so. I wish the Proboards software did that but it doesn't. As a result people are uploading files as large as 800-900+KB People can help out in several ways. First if you have the ability to host pics in a server and post links those files. This is the best option size it uses none of our storage space. If it's just to complicated to use a hosting service and you must attach a file please shrink the file as small as possible. Currently there are way to may 500KB-1000KB attachments (those will be the first to be deleted) . Files that large are just silly for posting on a forum where 50-100KB will usually do the job. Here's an example of a 700KB file that could easily be decreased by a factor of 10. Also please post jpgs not the larger bmp files. If you don't know how to resize an image just ask, it's very simple to do. Thanks for your assistance ThomasW

Thanks for the heads up. I've always preferred to upload images directly to any forums that I use, so that as image hosts come and go, the pictures will stay with the thread. If I ever have anything interesting to upload again, I'll host the bulk and just upload a summery pic/plot.

Just a note from a webmonkey;
If you send bitmaps (.bmp files) to a forum, you are a moron. If you don't know how to convert them to .jpg or .gif files, I'm sure there's someone here who can show you. Post me if you must, though I visit sporadically.
Aloha,
Poinz
