Hey all, I am very new to IB. I currently have 2 Tuba THT horns that I built and they have been awesome in terms of output 20hz and up. Here is my build thread over at AVS www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1263173&highlight=regrets .I have been looking into building something new due to the fact these horns have no output below 20hz. I have gone from multiple sealed boxes, to a couple larger horns tuned to 12hz and large ported sonotubes tuned low. Multiple sealed gets really pricey, Larger horns are just way to big. this leaves ported or IB. I am in the process of refinishing my basement and think I might have the space for an IB. Below is a quick drawing I made to show the space I would be using. the ceiling height is 90". I came up with an internal volume of 10194.064 L or 360 cubic ft. Is this enough space? If needed I can make the room extent all 20', I will just have to have a door at the end to get to the electric box. For drivers I was looking at 4 18" FI IB3s. As far as placement I was thinking under the screen above or below the center channel, or 2 on each side of the screen. My goals are to match what I currently have in output and shake the house at 10hz and lower. I have been reading so much on the various forums I go to and am just burned out trying to come up with the perfect solution for my system. Any help is greatly appreciated

Should work fine might consider lining the box with fiberglass batting.

I took some more measurements and can make the space 500 cubic feet. The room I am building for this has a concrete floor and the back wall is concrete. Will I need to cover the wall with batting, and will it be ok to leave the floor bare concrete or would I need to lay in some carpeting?
For the IB I will use 4 18" FI IB3s and 2 EP4000s.
I am also considering Keeping the THTs along with the IB, I have been told I will need an EQ and a phase controller to get them to play nice together. Any recommendations?

Carpeting on the floor won't do anything for the sound. Phase can only be adjusted at the crossover point and it takes using a oscilloscope to measure it. Most people don't get all worked up about absolute phase relationships. EQ? There are hundreds of them out there. KRbass,
Why 2 EP4000? I am currently running 1 EP4000 with 4 IB318s and I have to turn the gain down. 4000w is a lot of power, even for 4 18s.
just a thought.

The EP4000 output is as follows;
Stereo 8 ohm stereo=450w 4 ohm stereo=635w 2 ohm stereo=815w
Mono 8 ohm mono=1336w 4 ohm mono=2000w
