I will be gathering components for an IB setup soon, and am wondering which of two power amps which would be more appropriate. It will be a 4 AE IB15 setup and with the winISD runs I have done so far, power is not a real concern o get the performance I want ( for now ;D)
The two amps in my possession are a Steward PA1000, and a Nady XA300. Documentation for the Nady isn't a problem, I bought it a while ago and still have the manual. The Stewart PA1000 is older and I cannot find any documentation online for it. Would it be ok for IB use? Don't know the freq response characteristics or anything, so hoping someone here would know.
Thanks for any help.

Don't know anything about either of those amps.
Since you both it doesn't cost much to compare their performance

Well, I found some specs for future reference and for my satisfied curiosity:
Stewart PA-1000 Specifications:
FTC Power Rating <0.1% THD, 20Hz-20kHz
200w x 2 @ 8Ohm per channel, 240w x 2 @ 8Ohm single channel 200w x 2 @ 4Ohm per channel, 400w x 2 @ 4Ohm single channel 500w x 2 @ 2Ohm per channel, 580w x 2 @ 2Ohm single channel 400w @ 16Ohm mono bridged 700w @ 8Ohm mono bridged 1000w @ 4Ohm mono bridged
Frequency Response +0dB, -0.3dB..................20Hz-20kHz Bandwidth +0dB, -3.0dB...........................12Hz-45kHz Signal-to-Noise (A weighted, 200w @ 8Ohm).............110dB THD 20Hz-20kHz (1w to 200w @ 8Ohm)....................<0.1% Input Impedance.....................................20K Ohm Input Sensitivity (350w @ 4Ohm)...............0.775v (0dBV) Slew Rate.........................................>30V/usec Damping Factor.........................................>500 Input Connectors........................3-pin XLR, 1/4" TRS Output Connectors......6 Gauge, 5-Way Binding Post, 1/4" TS Power Requirements (average)...................120vAC 400VA Power Supply...........................High Speed Switching Dimensions.......1.75"x19"x15.3" (14.8" behind front panel) Weight...............................................11 lbs
Nady XA-300 Stereo Power Amplifier Specifications:
120W RMS @ 8 ohms per side 150W RMS @ 4 ohms per side 300W RMS @ 8 ohms bridged Minimum 4 ohms per side, 8 ohms bridged
* Input Sensitivity: 500V RMS (-4dBu) * Input Impedance: 50kOhm Unbalanced & Balanced * Frequency Response (at 10dB below rated output power): 20Hz~20kHz ±1dB, 5Hz~50kHz ±3dB * Distortion (SMPTE-1M): <.1% * S/N Ratio: 100dB * Front Panel: Power switch, input level control for each channel * Rear Panel: Parallel/Mono/Bridge selector, AC voltage selector switch * Connectors: Input: Active balanced XLR and 1/4" (6.3mm) TRS; Output: Touch-proof binding posts * Voltage selectable power supply: 110V~120V or 220V~240V AC 50/60Hz * Fuse: 115V AC ~ 6A 250V FB; 230V AC ~ 3A 250V FB * Dimensions: 19" x 12-2/5" x 3-1/2" (483 x 315 x 89 mm) * Weight: 13 lbs. (5.9kg)
By looking at the bandwidth, the Stewart goes down to 12Hz -3db (saw 10Hz on a random webpage), while the Nady does 5Hz +/- 3db. I'm going to use the Steward for a mains upgrade since it's fanless. So when it comes time for IB, I may swap them around, I don't know.
