Maybe a stupid question, but here goes anyhow. I have a pair of 10" Sonance IB in-wall speakers model Moderno--huge magnets. The woofers are dual voice coil. I've hooked them up to confirm polarity and hear almost no output when both voice coils are hooked up out of phase, but very little increase over one voice coil when both are hooked up in phase.
Question is---Should I hook the two voice coils in parallel or just use one? I know two voice coils in parallel and both speakers powered with only one amp will be a load of less than 2 ohms.

You can do the coils in parallel but the driver in series. Depends what impedance the coils are and what total resistance you want.
