Hi, new here. Does anyone make an IB sub which is safe for outdoor installations? I understand outdoor IB wouldn't deliver crazy bass, I'm just looking to augment the small pair of Niles OS20 speakers we have out there. (I read this old thread, but unfortunately it died and I haven't seen any specific equipment mentioned. And no, we aren't doing a neighbor-hassling "ghetto bass" thing, my house sits in the middle of a 6.5 acre field.) I'm looking at a patio ceiling installation. Briefly, we have an outdoor patio area which is covered but not enclosed. About half of the roof is an extension of the main house roof, so I calculate there is at least 140 cubic feet of space behind that ceiling (you could call it attic space but it's only about 2.5 feet tall at the high end). If I go this route, my setup will be completely shielded from sun or direct rain. However, I'm in Florida so heat and humidity is high, and there will be dust and insects and so on -- probably even occasional splashes when the house is pressure-washed. I say "IF" because there are a few other issues with this location that I'm still thinking through, but if I can't find an IB-capable outdoor sub, then I'll probably have to go back to thinking about boxes. Thanks!

Hi,
IB's don't make much sense outdoors given a myriad of factors.
Realistically the best option for your situation is to use a driver/drivers designed for car audio (not home IB) built into sealed or ported boxes built to fit between the joists.
