What are the most important factors for matching IB subwoofers with sealed? Fc... F3... Qtc... both... other?
Let's say that I have IB and sealed subs that both have a Fc of 22Hz and Qtc of .4 and .6 respectively. Provided I use digital processing to deal with timing and phase issues, is there any reason these won't integrate perfectly? Will I even have timing and phase problems not already inherent to having multiple subs?

The acoustic characteristics of the room and where the subs are located will create the biggest differences

Okay, thank you, Thomas. Assuming I've optimized placement of the IB and sealed subs what are the secondary/tertiary concerns regarding sealed sub design? What affects integration with the IB's more... Fc, Qtb, other? Please keep in mind that I'll be able to control phase, time and EQ.

Maybe this was a dumb question.

You make the assumption that someone has done a bunch of research regarding the integration of IB's with small sealed box subs and that the info is available.
I'm not aware of anyone ever doing any such research.
Were I trying to integrate an IB with a smallish sealed box, I'd get tbe Qtc as close as possible and call it a day.

My apologies for my assumption. Yes, I was thinking that surely a few folks have done some real-world testing of mixing sealed and IB subwoofers and have a good idea of what factors are most important to consider.
I'm "guessing" that if I match sealed Fc and Qtc with that of the IB then the only other concern is subwoofer placement. Of course, this requires using IB subs of higher Fs than I prefer but there's always EQ to remedy that. Also, the sealed subs are necessarily smaller so are only supplemental. Obviously, sealed subs can be moved around for real-world experimentation whereas, once installed, IB subs cannot.
I'm thinking... two IB 18's and three or four sealed 12's.

I've completed my IB to operational status, it's not aesthetically trimmed out etc., but it's fully functional. I recently took delivery of two, nice, small sealed subs to mate with it and aid in mitigating room effects etc.
So, I'll certainly share that info with all interested.
Thanks

Running on memory here, in the history of the forum perhaps a 1/2 dozen people have supplemented their IB subs with sealed boxes.
The nice thing about the lowest octaves is those are more forgiving of differences in the system compared to the higher octaves.
