I'm planning on front-mounting my Soundsplinter RL-p18s into my manifolds (ie: so the front flange is on the same side as the face of the drivers). However, I've just noticed the Soundsplinters have a thick rubberised plastic surround all the way around the outside of the flange. My question: do you keep this on and just put the screws/bolts through the plastic surround? There are already holes in the plastic, implying it can withstand the tension of tightening... but I'd hate to be tightening things up and the plastic decides to split. Anyone who's installed these and has some advice, fire away! www.soundsplinter.com/rlp18_subwoofer_information.html

I lift the top edge back and shoot in the screw. Then release the lip so it pops back covers the screws

Perfect! Exactly what I was considering myself.
Just discovered the 17" cutout they recommend for the drivers is a little loose (by about 10mm). I wonder if that's so the timber doesn't come in contact with the basket?
