OK, thanks for clarifying the situation.

Exactly! I am in a quandary, but I can wait if this sub will satisfy my needs. $162 each with no shipping cost is much better than $234 plus $50 shipping on the FI. The FI would have to be twice as good for that price. If I were only buying two then maybe, but I'm buying 16! Things can add up quickly with that. I wonder if FI would give me a break on a qty price?
Regards

Just for reference what are your main speakers?
They better be massive because if the mains are too small to keep up with the output from the sub, it's rather pointless to buy 16 of anyone's IB drivers

Here are the T/S parameters for both 18" drivers. One must remember the Fi driver is specifically designed for IB use, so it's T/S parameters will of course be different than those of a general purpose sub.

Even entertaining the theoretical response plots generated by those woofers in an anechoic chamber (WinISD) with zero room gain you can see that the drivers are close in terms of sheer output. Keep in mind the latter is without regard to inductance issues on the fi driver because fi doesn't list the inductance of their IB3 woofer. We (SI) do list Le. fi does not list Le. For their SSD series [which may/should have a shorter coil than the ib series] the Le:Re is 2.8x. For our drivers the Le:Re is 1.08x.
