ducting manifold into adjoining space

Hello guys, I am brand new to the ib concept and have searched all over for the answer to this situation...my living room/ ht sits above a basement, I have two options for manifold location 1 in the basement and opening into the listening room but this would mean the subs are behind the listening position about equidistant as the mains are infront. Or 2 behind the false wall above the mains and a trunk/sonotube venting into the basement..if option 2 is used the manifold could be upward of 70cu ft and the trunk could be up to 36"x14"(considering 4xib318's) or so.... no waf issues as I have learned forgiveness is easier obtained than permission!!

Sorry but that's not workable it's way to small. Any opening into a separate space requires very large cross-section.
