I've built half a dozen small box subs with these and also the 12 and 18 inch drivers. They are well built and haven't had any problems with them so far.

Wonder if anyone has considered the Alpine SWS-15D2 can be found for $99.50 with free shipping. alpine-usa.com/product/view/sws-15d215mm xmax 68mm p-p xmech Qts .48 Fs 27hz I know the designer of this woofer. FEA was used extensively in its development. He(the designer)did say he preferred the sound of the swr series of drivers from alpine. I own 4 SWR-1542d(21.4mm xmax) and have them in 3 cubic foot sealed cabs, driving them with a pair of ep4000. They are an earthquake machine....however overtime I have grown to find them to have a heavy sound. The SWR-1542d's can be found for $175. What do you guys think of 15mm's for $100?

What do you guys think of 15mm's for $100? If one has the space for lots of drivers and budget considerations they're probably worth considering. For comparison the Fi IB3 15 has 34mm of Xmax. Yes its $54 more than a pair of the Alpine. Thing is if one toasts one of the Alpine I image it becomes a paperweight where as the Fi can be reconed Also don't underestimate the amount of work and material cost involved when installing say 8 drivers vs 4.
