Hi all, I received the following email from Kevin Haskins.... "Thomas, I just wanted to offer Cult Forum members a special on the current drivers too. Free Shipping on any 2, 4 or 8 Pack orders of the Tempest-X. All they have to do is type "IB Cult" in the text-box of my shopping cart during checkout. I'll have to subtract the shipping prices manually because my shopping cart just doesn't have the flexibility of offering these type of shipping modifications without lots of programming headaches." On the same subject, those Face Audio amps I'm carrying now are continuing to impress. Fan noise is a non-issue at this point. LF response looks good plenty good for subwoofer use with the 3db down point around 6Hz. Its only about 1.25db down @ 10Hz. These make a very attractive solution for powering subs and the build quality is top-notch. They look more like high-end audio products rather than roadie fare.

Kevin, Do you have a plot like that for the EP2500? If not, how would a dummy like me run one? Kadiddle

Kevin, Do you have a plot like that for the EP2500? If not, how would a dummy like me run one? Kadiddle Nope.... I don't have an EP2500 and the more I learn about Behringer the less I like them. I use Praxis, which is an FFT computer driven measurement system and not an inexpensive purchase. If you send me yours and pay shipping both ways I'll measure it. I'd like to take a look at the EP2500 and see how it compares with the Face Audio unit. The Face unit looks to have a simple DC blocking cap on the input. Its about 6db per octave with a corner around 8Hz. Almost all equipment is going to have the same as its industry standard practice to use some form of DC blocking @ the input stage.

Maybe someone on this forum is located in your area. If not I might consider shipping my amp to you while on vacation in January, or maybe March. I believe you are located in Port Angeles, WA, anyone here in that area with an EP2500? kadiddle

Yup, I'm in Washington but I'm 2-3 hours outside of Seattle. Most people only go through here in the summer on their way to Victoria.
I'd be happy to measure one if someone wants to bring it on by. I can do FR and noise measurements but I don't have a dummy load big enough to do any real power testing at the limits of these amplifiers. I'd have to custom build something to do a meaningful stress test.

Here is a picture under the skirt of the Face F1200TS. This is the big boy @ 1400W x 2 into 4 ohms, 2300W x 2 into 2 ohms. Bridged mono 3000W into 4 ohms. Nice build quality. Some LEDs & a nice aluminum gain adjustment with detents so you can match both sides.

That looks like a serious bit of kit and leaves the EP2500 case looking a bit empty and almost amateurish.
$600 is the equivalent price of the EP2500 in Denmark. In the US the EP2500 seems to sell for half the equivalent European price.
Any chance this amp can be obtained in a 250Volt 50Hz version for Europe? ;D
I Googled for Face F1200TS but found nothing.

Wow, that's a real mans, take no prisoners kind of amp.. ;D Design, components, and construction are VERY impressive... Edit to add...... The 'normal' online price for this amp is a hair under $1200, so Kevin's package offer is quite a deal!..... There is a 2-month special on them and the offer ends at the end of the year. Only available at this price until 2008 & then only with the purchase of a sub. I don't know what the exact pricing is going to be for 2008. Hopefully it stays attractive. This is the best built pro-amp I've ever seen. Whoever laid it out and designed it did a top-rate job.

As much as I'd like to help you, your really better off finding something in Europe. This beast is 60+ lbs and if there was ever a need for service you would be looking at spending $500 to ship it back overseas for service.

I'd like to buy some subs from you but I already have my "endgame" drivers.

Just to make Kevin happy I ordered a pair of F1200TS's.... One just has to make these sacrifices sometimes. ;D Not tempted by some bigger drivers for a bit more displacement?
