Not bad for $146 shipped!"
How did you get free shipping? I went to the website and shipping for me was around $50.00, so I didn't pull the trigger.
Anyway how does it perform?
Thanks

Looks like the deal I got from Amazon ($142.99 with free shipping) was a limited time deal or someones mistake, because they are back up over $200 now. Digitally Unique has the weight listed as 3lbs, which is why theirs is coming out so cheap. Only $7.90 to ship here Texas. About $155 total. Probably the best deal going for the moment until they catch their shipping weight mistake. www.digitallyunique.com/xa-1100.html?src=247

I just checked and they are out of stock at the moment. On a side note, I just purchased a Rane PE17 on fleabay for $230. I know it's a lot more money than a BFD, but those things are ugly and appear to be a pain to figure out. I guess if I don't like it I can always put it back up for sale and get the BFD or even the DEQ2496.

Anyway how does it perform? Thanks Allens I don't know, I haven't built my sub yet. The driver (BP1503) should show up early next week. I'm off for 7 days starting Monday so I should be able to have something up and running by midweek. My XLR adaptor should show up today so I might give it a test run on my mains. This sub is only temporary until we do our addition and I get my own theater room. ;D Then hopefully, I can put the nady to work on a killer IB set up.

Problem with any analog EQ is that the dials are so small you'll need instrumentation to accurately set it.

What type of instruments are you talking? I'll be picking up a Rat Shack SPL meter and downloading some type of software. I realize it will be trial and error with the analog eq, but I should be able to do it. But like I said, I can always sell the Rane for close to what I paid for it if I don't like it. And I'll have an extra $100 after I buy the BFD to blow on something else.

Real Time Analyzer or some form of MLS testing.
I have a pair of mono Symetrix 551 parametric EQ. Sonically they're great, but unless I use a full-blow testing rig (not an SPL meter) it's impossible to accurately set the little dials. And once they're set, one needs to hot glue the dials in place or use a rackmount security cover. If this isn't done a simple dusting can change all the settings.

Recieved my XA-1100 today. Suprisingly, the fans in it are quieter than the fans in my XA-900. I think I'll replace the fans in the 900 and if it winds up quieter than the 1100, I'll take care of it too. As of today, I can recommend the Panaflo fans as opposed to the OEM "Shen Zhen Jie Leng Industrial Development" fans that my XA1100 had. It no longer sounds like there is a jet ready for takeoff. Well worth the 5 bucks and 30 mins of my time.

Let me bring this full circle if I may. I am about to do the IB as described here: ibsubwoofers.proboards51.com/index.cgi?board=projects&action=display&thread=1127005163I plan on 2 TC2+ drivers in each of the 4 locations. My Casablanca III has three sub outs which can be L & R Front + Rear or just Front and Rear out of 2 outputs. I can add 2 additional 225W modules to my Theta Dreadnaught to drive the IB front & rear @ a cost of $1000. This is a high currant top class AB design. Or I could use 2 Nady's or Behringer's with a channel and level control for each opening. I of course plan on EQ. What would you guys do and is 225W AB enough to drive 4 drivers each? If not how much power would this need? Thanks edit by moderator to fix link
