I'm looking for an inexpensive amp that can accurately reproduce 1-10Hz for a special project I'm working on. It doesn't need to be very powerful, 50-100 watts is fine. Most everything I've been looking at are spec'd at 10Hz and up.
Any ideas?

The buttkicker amp is good to 5hz, I don't know of any that go all the way to DC or 1hz

Did older Japanese stereo amps have a "rumble" filter? My Pioneer SA606 used to track warped discs a treat. 33.3/60 = 0.555Hz I believe. Is that low enough?

You might want to send an email to Bruce Thigpen at Eminent Technologies. I know it took him a while to find a suitable amp for his rotary sub since it basically runs from DC to 100Hz. You can probably find his contact info somewhere here www.eminent-tech.com/main.html

Older amps is a good idea, perhaps a vintage receiver with "phono" inputs would work... should be able to find that cheap.
Yea, Bruce Thigpen is the reason I need the amp. I'm trying to build a DIY rotary sub and have got all the parts on order. I just needed an amp that can actually drive it. I'll use Speaker Workshop to test the amp (and my sound card) and see if it will actually produce subsonic frequencies.

This may be a little pricey for a test amp, and it is not available for another month but they are claiming it is good to 1 hz.... emotiva.com/rpa1.html

Jim, Hopefully you're still receiving email notifications for this thread. Looks like it's been a long time since posting.
I have a couple ideas on the drawing board and have purchased a 'key' component to follow down this same path.
Any updates, willing to trade info/ideas? Or have you gone "under"? LOL
