Will a Carver ZR1600 be enough to power two FiCAraudio Q-18's with single 4ohm voice coils?
thanks, dan

I think it would do just fine.

Thanks for the advice Thomas! In an e-mail I received from Scott, from ficaraudio, he had said that the woofers should get a good 600W or better a piece. Because the ZR1600 has fallen short on bench tests fulfilling their output ratings...I'm wondering where the line is drawn for quality or quantity. The ZR 1600 will (at a very best) get me 300W per woofer...some argue only 200W. At what point would I be better off to go with something like the EP2500. I've heard a few pro-amps (including some Behringers) that I was far from impressed with (in the full range use), but have not heard the EP2500. I also haven't heard the ZR1600 either...but it's held in high regard (for whatever that could be worth). Reading about the possibly inflated specs does have me a bit worried. I wonder if I should just go with the EP2500 and give it power. hmmm, dan

i recently put 4 EP2500's in my home theater to power the 16 12" woofer in my sub. I had a 800w Krell amp before those. I was very nervous at the musical capability of a less expensive amp.
I was FLOORED at the performance of the EP. Low bass was deep and strong, the punch was ample...i was all around very pleased.
dont under estimate the performance of the EP2500's.

Thanks Thomas. I was running across a used ZR1600 for a pretty good price. But I'm going to opt for the EP2500 instead.
loganfan...thanks for the words of encouragement! I do believe I'll go that route...thanks!
