Hello everyone. This is a great forum to get educated. I am glad I was redirected here. I am working on designing my IB set up that will be 4 (four) 15” or 18” woofers. 2x2 since my Yamaha DSP-a1 provides stereo output for subs. The size on woofers will be decide pretty soon as well. I already have Behringer DSP1124P on order. So my first ? for now is: what AMP is better Behringer EP-2500 (that is recommended by this forum) or Crown XLS 602 that I can get for about the same amount of $ after rebate.

Depends on your priorities, the XLS has Crown's 3 yr warranty, and roughly 1/2 the power of the EP2500.

I am very pleased with my Nady XA900's. They work fine into two ohms.
I will let you know how a Tapco 1400 works as soon as it arrives. Supposed to deliver 800 watts per channel into two ohms. Just right for the new (to me) high excursion high power drivers that arrived today.

So how much power will I need to drive 4 15" or 18" woofers? That depends on the sensitivity of the drivers you buy.

I am considering 4-15" www.tcsounds.com/tc3000.htmIs it a good choice? My drivers will be mounted on both sides of my ceiling (I guess it is called lineal array or so) so I want them to look nice.

The TC-3000 are nice drivers, looking at the T/S parameters it appears they're really designed for high output car audio use. IMO the TC-2000 is a better choice for home audio if you need/want a metal cone driver. If you're not concerned about the looks of the cone material, I suggest looking at the .Q series drivers from www.ficaraudio.com. Many have used their 18"s in IB subs and the results have been impressive. With any of the driver being discussed here, you'd want the added power of the EP-2500.

Thank you Thomas. I appreciate your input. I am a newbie so good advice is always appreciated. Any ways if I stick with TC-2000 witch voice coil is more suitable for IB SINGLE or DUAL?

The choice of VC configuration is dependent on how many driver are being used, and what impedance you want the amp to see.

I am thinking about 4 drivers and 4 oms (seems like 4 oms is used by most) but I really do not know which way is better for the sound 2 4 or 8. I intend to use my HT 50x50 (movies/music)

Keeping the amplifier load at 4 ohms per channel is a good idea

Dual will give you the most flexibility
