They're simply the plate amp repackaged.
Someone who had the plate amp and replaced it with a EP-2500 said the PE amp was a joke in comparison.

I wouldn't recommend that amp for IB use. Parts Express don't mention it, but that amp has an 18 Hz rumble filter. I only know because a mate of mine purchased one and only found out afterwards. However, he did mention that he was happy with it's performance otherwise.
For the price, you would be better off looking at the Behringer EP1500, or for a bit more, the Behringer EP2500.

Which one? PE no longer seems to have a plate amp with adjustable phase. Seems like 0-180 phase control is pretty important, and you don't get that even with a BFD run in front of a EP-2500, right?
A couple of the reviews for this say it's power specs are typically over-optimistic. Too bad, because the concept is about perfect: parametric EQ, 0-180 phase, XO, Gain, all in one box!
Would this really be hopeless for a 4# x 15" IB install?

This thread is about the amp shown in the first post Most IB sub builders haven't needed a phase control. And no you don't get one with a BFD or 2500 The crossover is built in any modern receiver. The minimal parametric EQ is all but useless. Gain? It's laughable...

Yes, I meant which plate amp is it a repackagiing of? Good to know that phase control is not normally an issue for IB. How many bands of EQ is usually needed? By "gain" I just meant "amplification". Yah, I just got a little excited. I'm aware that if it looks too good to be true it probly is.... Thanks again, Thomas Peace, Sanaka
