I've been pondering subharmonic synthesizers. Berhinger has discontinued the Ultrabass units, and I don't have much info on the DBX120 processors.
I did notice that the Behringer EX3200 is only $99 list. Any one here have experience with one of these?
Thanks!
BTW, the 4x15" PE IB's will be here tomorrow - the manifold will be done tonight. The installation will be this weekend - can't wait!

Given the passband where these devices work I think they're only beneficial for use with older source material where there's little bottom end.

Thomas,
What is the passband of these synthesizers? I can't find any real data.
Thanks!

What is the passband of these synthesizers? I can't find any real data. Google the model and you'll can find lots of info. The EX3200 is primarily an expander. Personally I wouldn't want any processor like these messing with my signal

I used to have an Audiocontrol Epicentre in my car system which I believe basically does the same thing as the EX3200 (for bass). They also had a home variety as well but I think that's gone now.
Depending on the source material the end result is either terrible, or a lot of fun. Most of the time I'd have it switched off but sometimes the urge to thump just takes over and I'd switch it on. You could also adjust with a remote how much effect you wanted.
Was it realistic? No. Did it have anything to do with sound quality? No. Could it be a bunch of fun? Yes! ;D
