I fail to see how building a kit that starts off with a $275 stuffed PCB can be less expensive than buying one of the assembled Behringer EP series amps.
Regarding the 'class' of amps, any is fine as long as the design is properly implemented.

Thanks thomas, Behringer was never on my radar as far as amps are concerned. Its indeed a great value. I checked it out on amazon.
All my research so far has been on the internet forums, where i have found various leads for various products.
With ClassDaudio, the point really is not the less expense. I read a few reviews in the net and lot of people thought that it was a bargain for the kind of quality it delivered. Also being a kit it is much easier/cheaper to ship to india.
I may be totally wrong on this, but behringer seems to be a like a brute force amp. i mean 2000w and above. Does one need that kind of power for an IB. Probably the reason i did not come across behringer amps is that such high wattage amps are not used in home theatre setups.
what would be enough if i want to drive to 18" Ficars?

IIRC both Fi and AE recommend at least 200watts per driver.....
