Hi, How do think would a Cerwin Vega HED-15.4 subwoofer work in a IB configuration? Specs: www.cerwinvega.com/products/pdf/mobile/HEDSubsser2Manual.pdfSensitivity: 90 dB Power Handling RMS: 300 W Fs: 23 Hz Qts: 0.71 Qms: 4.80 Qes: 0.84 Vas: 253 liters Xmax: 18 mm I'm especially worried on the low power handling. I was planning to compensate that by doubling the element count. Regards, Jani Lehmuskoski

As per the FAQ page, power handling (thermal limits of VC heating) isn't a problem for IB subs since you'll always run out of excursion before hitting the heating limits of the VC.
Javier (he's got the outie IB in Mexico- see gallery pages) is using 4 of the Cerwin-Vega HED-15 DVC subwoofers

I had considered these drivers as well due to cost.

Thanks for your comments. Javier seems to be using older version of this element and I couldn't find specs for that one for comparison.
CV reports their sensitivity as 2.8 V@1 m. How does that convert to 1 W@1 m? We probably should know how the two coils are connected.

Well I bought 4 of them. Mainly because they were only 110 euros each and they might perform nicely. I'm probably making a temporary installation which replaces my balcony door to test their performance.

Normally one series connects the VCs on each driver, then parallel drivers together in pairs.
Javier is quite happy with his setup. Unfortunately our old forum was closed by the hosting service and the available archives from the 'Wayback Machine' don't contain all the older threads.
