Ok, somehow I've managed to destroy one of my Blueprint 1503's. I'm only using 2 and was considering my options. Anything better out there at a resonable price?

The only 'comparable' drivers are the SoundSplinter RL-p15"s and they're significantly more expensive than the cost of the BP1503's.
I'm afraid the day of cheap high excursion drivers that could take a pounding are long gone. If/when JohnJ from AE Speakers has AV15" available those will probably the new 'best buy'.

How are the Soundsplitters in comparison to the Blueprints?

ThomasW,
You mention the AV15 quite a bit but I had thought the IB15 from John was the driver we'd be interested in... Do you favor the AV15 over the IB 15?

The AE-IB15"s are recommended when one is on a low budget and needs the most bang for the buck.
If one has more money, yes the AV15"s are a better driver.

The RL-p15 is a much more sophisticated driver compared to the old BluePrint. Specifically it has a superior motor design so less distortion.

What's bottom dollar on the Soundsplitter if I buy 2? Any idea of price on the AV15? For the rlp15's your looking at $245 a pop plus shipping. Pricing for the new AV15 is $219 if/when available.

Of the currently available drivers the RL-p15 would be my choice for a 15".

Don't have a clue about the AV15"s. I think $220 is a list price. But I imagine there will be a sale when they're first offered, but no one knows when that will be I agree that the 220$ is probably list price as well... last batch of AV15 sold for 180$ i believe.
