I'm currently patching all the wholes in my rec room drywall ceiling and I've found several spots where the nails aren't holding. I've resecured most of the areas with drywall screws but in spots the paper just tears due to age.
Now, we hear of dishes rattling off shelves at the other end of the house, plywood delaminating, and just general shaking/quaking mayhem. I will be playing my IB at 120db+ peaks regularly so am I going to have nails popping and cracking the drywall compound if they aren't holding fully?

Any sub played loud enough will pop drywall nails. That's why drywall screws and fiberglass joint tape were were invented
Won't be a long too long before you'll be deaf. Enjoy it while it lasts.
