I am a newbie, but I am considering an IB design for my home theater. I dont have pics yet, but i am gonna try to explain where I want to install. my den and eat-in kitchen are equally divided by a fireplace column with arches on either side. The ceiling height is around 14 ft and flat. the arches have a plant ledge that stops about 5' short of the ceiling and connects to the fireplace column which extends into the attic. Within this column, I have a ventless gas fireplace insert and my tv nitch directly above that. Above the tv nitch there is nothing until it hits the attic where drywall covers the opening into the attic and spray insulation covers that. I am thinking, i could mount two 15" subs downward firing into the tv nitch, and also remove the drywall and insulation covering the opening into the attic. I am not sure how well IB would work if the waves shoot up the column b4 entering the attic. Also would the bass coming down directly on top of my tv and center channel pose a problem? BTW the column is simply made of 2x4's wrapped with drywall. The size is about 5'x4' by (above the tv nitch) 7' to reach the attic. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am going out of town for the weekend, so I will try to take pics on monday to post--as I'm sure I confused the hell out of everybody including myself.
also, how do you load pics in this forum?

You click on the 4th icon in the row of icons that have the arrow as the 1st icon. Then paste in the URL of the image.
And yes pics or drawings would be helpful to answer your questions.
