So I have built a flat baffle with 4 drivers stacked on top of each other that I would like to mount vertically between 2 wall joists. I've noticed that the two joists that I have planned to use are not perfectly straight/true, so there may be fluctations of about 1/8" that might cause gaps between the baffle and the joist. Has anyone used any type of foam/rubber between the baffle and the joists to prevent these gaps and ensure an air tight seal? Or should I just try and use enough screws so that the baffle is perfectly flush with the joist in all places?
Also a different but related question, when placing the baffle into the hole that I have cut out of the drywall there will obviously be some gaps between the baffle and the drywall, what is the best way to fill these? I was thinking a rubber caulk would make the most sense.
Thanks for the help!

Use a thick bead of liquid nails between the baffle and the framing. Use your screws basically as clamps to hold the baffle in place while the liquid nails sets, it will level the irregularities.
If the gap between the baffle and the drywall is small, paintable acrylic/latex caulk will do the job. Another option is just to use a wood frame if the gap is large.

Thanks as always Thomas.
On another side note, and maybe this has been addressed before, but when googling "Cult of the Infinitely Baffled" the old forum page always comes up as the first few links, it seems like there should be a way to have the new site be the first hit considering this is the official page.

Thanks as always Thomas. The old forum was operational for 4.5 years. This one has been running for 11 months. Google lists are based on what site has the most hits. If someone wants to pay the price there are companies that will create a higher listing on Google.
