If you'd like to do any analyses of scenes you can get speclab here www.qsl.net/dl4yhf/spectra1.htmlAs per the HTF thread, these are the settings I use in Speclab: -48kHz or 44.1kHz sample rate -waterwall scroll interval 120ms -range -70-0dB -fft input size 16384 -decimate input by 8 -freq. range 0Hz-120Hz The coloration should be approximately blue for -70db and "magenta" for 0db. Always include your scale for reference.

Is there a "setup" guide i can check out?
I installed the software and gave it a quick test... but i don't get any readout (soundcard analog out... fed into the soundcard analog in, right?).

Gave it another try and worked ok... not really sure what i changed though. Perhaps when all else fails, i should read the instructions...

On my sblive I have to set the recording option in the volume applet to "what you hear" to get speclab to see the dvd audio.
Also I should mention that the color scale above is a bit wrong. There is no way to get blue to cover so much of the range, so just set it so it's approximately blue at the left and purple on the right. Also if anyone posts their own shots be sure to include the color scale for reference.
Edit- I replaced the color scale image above with a correct one.

I did a series of music scans... quite a bit of 10Hz-20Hz material in 2 channel CD recordings!!... Do you guys think I should post all the different artists in one thread... or a separate thread per artist?

Let's start a single thread, we can do multiple parts if needed.

Interesting thread on Speclabs' downmixing treatment of LFE using AC3filter: tinyurl.com/nv4qr I know the discussion moves on to DD and DTS downmixing implications, but I was mostly interested in the first couple of posts regarding Speclab. Check your settings... Edit by moderator to make a link that works
