I'm in the works on installing a HT in my basement. After talking to several of you on here, I'm dead set on putting a IB sub in my house. The sub will be located under the stairs, on the lowest level, and in the middle of my house. The manifold will open up into the HT on the far left side of the house. Problem is, my neighbor's bedroom is on that side of the house. Now, i've checked and sound does go between the house, but what's really the problem is the bass. Are there any methods I can employ that don't involve tearing out my drywall?
Also, he's a cool neighbor so I'd rather not piss him off.

Start by lining the inside of the stairwell with 8" or more of fiberglass insulation.
Do me favor place all your future questions in your main project thread. That way people know what's been asked and answered, and the forum isn't filled with a bunch of short threads.
