I know that this forum is oriented for subs that are money efficient about IB subs but I would like to know if some peoples have any experiences about this driver the jbl 2269H(and I could say the same about Aurora NRT-18) These are hard to get and high on the pocket($$$) but in a restricted space, do they come in value for the buck? Your ideas are welcome

I know that this forum is oriented for subs that are money efficient That assumption is incorrect. Let us know when you find a single low distortion driver that moves 25+L of air .....

When you say 25 L of air, are you talking about these drivers? JBL and Aurora?

When you say 25 L of air, are you talking about these drivers? JBL and Aurora? I'm talking about how much total Vd (swept volume) is needed to make a high performance, high output IB sub. If you want to buy four of the JBL or AuraSound 18"s you'll have a really nice and really expensive IB. But given the passband where IB subs operate, I doubt you'll hear much difference between 4 of the above drivers and something like 4 of the Fi IB18"s. If you're of the opinion you can use one JBL or AuraSound 18" in an IB, you might want to revisit the FAQ pages and review some of the build threads posted on the forum.

Am I missing something, but what's impressive about the JBL subs?
Aura does make great drivers, (I have owned 2 sets of them for mobile applications), but I'm with him about the freq. range and the SQ.

Am I missing something, but what's impressive about the JBL subs? They're engineering overkill for what we require since we need multiple drivers, but like the Aura they're a cutting edge state of the art design.

Doing searches for the 2269H and the VT4881A enclosure, I see the marketing stuff stating 3.5" excursion, but an actual test sheet from JBL showing 19mm xmax at 10%THD, as well as a rather high 28hz Fs.

In the prosound world people refer to these as subwoofers, we would call them woofers...

Okay I agree Fo the aurora speakers, does the Nrt-18 would be a better contender than the NS18-992-4A for IB baffle? I just want to know because I don't fully understand all the T/S parameters needed for an optimization with the IB principle. I think that (if I understand well) a rigid suspension with a low resonnance and a good xmax are some of the parameters needed. By the way I wish you a "Merry Xmax" to all the members of this forum

I think that (if I understand well) a rigid suspension with a low resonnance and a good xmax are some of the parameters needed. I've answered this question several times now. Since we're not talking about smallish 'portable' sealed box subs, a high Vd, aka a high swept volume of air is what we need for IB subs. That's why you see threads here where people are using 2, 4, or more 15"s- 18"s each having 22mm-30mm of Xmax Regarding the NRT-18, as is explained by example on the main FAQ page, the Qts of this driver would be too low.
