I have decided against a line array IB and will be installing under the cinema room. I may have a couple of issues. the first being i want to install the IB under the floor behind a screen wall. So there will be a whole false wall in front of the IB. That said, the false wall will be GOM fabric and is acoustically transparent. My projector screen is also acoustically transparent. Can anyone see any issues with this setup?
Also, under the house there is only about 20" clearance from the floor to the ground. But there is still about 4 yards in all directions. Will this be a problem?

Hi,
Seems like it should work. I'd put insulation of the floor (dirt) of the crawlspace directly below the drivers.

Do you mean use the dirt to brace the bottom of the manifold to keep it ridgid?

Do you mean use the dirt to brace the bottom of the manifold to keep it ridgid? You made no mention using a manifold, so I though you were cutting individual holes through the floor for each driver.

Sorry, I mentioned that i would no longer be building an array but wasn't clear what i was going to do. I have 4 x 15" TempestX drivers and will be building 2 manifolds to house them under the house. very similar to these. home.comcast.net/~infinitelybaffled/Manifold1.jpgBut facing down of course. I hope that helps.
