What is the recomened clearance for the bumplates with the baskets facing in? The subs are Ficar IB18s which have holes for venting in the bump plates. Are we talking finger clearance or inches?

The vent is for cooling, so spacing sort of depends on how hard they're going to be driven.
Are you working with a dimension that forces the drivers to be really close together?

Well the current manifolds are 19.25" wide with them mounted on the outside surface facing each other. If mount them baskets in I only have a .25" between bump plates. I would have to put another layer on the outside of the manifold to space them out but then I'll have 2.25" thick baffle which I assume is also not good (interfearing with the rearwave).
It would just be easier to remake the manifolds so that's why I'm asking how much space should I have?

1/4" is to tight, 2.25" would be fine
