BTW how much drop is there in the ceiling?

The drop ceiling is about 10" below the rafters.

IMO having the entire ceiling function as a bass trap isn't a good idea.

Any two rooms of that house are the size of my 3 bedroom house! Holy cow. The inside is very nice--suffice it to say, I'm very jealous.
