I am looking to build a IB setup with 2 18" subs. Haven't decided which ones yet and I am fairly new to this. However my biggest concern as I live in Houston and our houses are typically very close to one another. How loud will this setup be outside the house? I do not want to disturb my neighbors. Them being able to somewhat hear my setup ouside their house is ok with me, however I do not want them hearing it inside their house as I typically watch movies and such fairly late at night.
On seperate topic and I will continue searching. What is the "standard" IB setup? Like is there a typical entry level pair of subs and amp that is recommended? Like best bang for buck setup?

This issue is of concern to as well. However, everyone seems to feel the same way, in their experience, the sounds emanating from the roof of an attic based IB, are so low in frequency that they of indiscernible. Since there is nothing higher in frequency that could associate them with normal, full bandwidth occurring sounds, they become relatively benign.
What is the "standard" IB setup? Read the FAQ, there is an enormous amount of answers to your questions there.

What the neighbors hear depends on the specifics of your install and how loud you choose to play the sub.
There is no standard IB because every install is custom.
Specifics of the IB depend on your room. How big? Whats the distance from the listening position to the potential location for the sub? How loud do you want the sub to play?
