It's been a long time since my last post and it's subject was way out in left field. So now a few reasonable questions of relevance.
My IBS setups has been silent for about 5 months due lighting blowing the power amp in my receiver. Now that a new receiver is on it's way I started contemplating on the condition of my two 15" Tempest which are sitting side by side in the gable area of the raised ceiling in the den. Back when I build my setup 32" Plasma TVs Plasma's were a steal at $10,000, digital cameras were a fad, a sock puppet was selling pet supplies on-line, VHS outsold DVD's 10 to 1 and I knew everything about IBS due mostly to IBS's the old forum site. Now 32" TV's are 2000% cheaper, digital cameras are embedded in everything, sock puppets still rock but don't sell pet supplies, online steaming is replacing DVDs and I have almost successfully forgotten everything I learned with the exception of the name of the website.
That being said: How long can I expect my Y2k model Tempest's to last and do I need to take any additional precaution when firing them up after 5 months. Note: The back of the sub's are exposed to an Houston, TX area attic.

Precautions? Beats me...
If they were operational 5 months ago they should still work.
