Hi all, I am new to the IB world, and have started to plan for an IB in my attic. I also started a “campaign” to get my wife to understand what a fantastic solution this is, getting rid of the big sub woofer in our living room… But it seems to be hard to find suitable drivers. Since I have been playing around with car audio for many years looked at what those manufacturers had to offer, and I found this Mac Audio 15" subwoofer. I was thinking of 4 of these with a Behringer Europower EP4000 and a Behringer DEQ-2496. The room is about 4 * 12 m. Now to my question, will there woofers work? I appreciate any input, being a novice a need all the advice I can get. The spec of the woofer is: Mac Audio STX 15 Power handling RMS/max. 600 / 1200 watts Impedance 4 ohms Frequency response 18 - 500 Hz Sound pressure level 93 dB Outer diameter 380 mm Cutting out 357 mm Installation depth 170 mm Fs 22 Hz Qes 0,27 Qms 5,17 Qts 0,26 Vas 335 L Xmax 24 mm Rdc 3,3 Ohm(s)

Will they work?
Sure, but.....
With a Qts of 0.26 they're way overdamped, so the bottom end will roll-off quickly and at a higher frequency compared to a driver with a higher Q. All this means is that it will take more EQ for them to play really low.
If they're a DVC driver you can raise the Q by using RDO operation, see FAQ for more info about this.

Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated. Unfortunately they are not dvc:s so i guess I will have to look for something else.
