Nice deal, 13mm Xmax, w/ 26mm Xmech, if that's accurate, and there's no reason to think otherwise,...that's a nice design for an IB. Xmax is a touch modest, but the price is attractive enough to consider an approach like a massive wall array,...ala Paul Wright's Octagon. Yes, they're half the about the displacement of what the IB3 from Fi possesses, but they're half the price too. Therefore, if one has the luxury of space, a huge planar bass array, then the width and height modal behavior from one's room can be smoothed significantly. For that matter, multiple manifolds could be implemented too and with selective mode cancellation, and standing waves could be minimized with smoother response. Fwiw, Toole discusses selective mode cancellation, and all kinds of other goodness in the following paper; www.infinitysystems.com/home/technology/whitepapers/inf-rooms_3.pdf I guess one needs to be smarter than the forum tools, cause I don't know how to insert a link and substitute the URL with the text of my choice  I guessing it's right before me, but I don't get it. |

Thanks for the info ThomasW. I just purchased 4 drivers to use in two separate manifolds. I'm new to IB woofers, but hope to have some photos of my build to share with the community later.
Foh, read your article by Toole, very good information. Hopefully I can use the two manifolds to help smooth standing waves.

Update from Mark...
Hello everyone,
Thank you all for taking advantage of the Christmas deal we threw on the
XMass-18. Frankly, I was surprised just how much interest this sparked.
Drivers should be completed by mid next week. Packaging will take a bit
longer to receive - I am hoping to get the boxes by the end of next week,
but that is dependent on just how busy the company making the them are.
We are now using FedEx for shipping so keep your eye on your Email (SPAM,
junk mail folder) for a notification from them about your shipment.
Not all of you will receive this Email, so if one or two of you can throw
up a short post on your favourite web forum about this, I would appreciate
it.
