I'm thinking of making a 4 x 15" manifold and was wondering if folks think there is any problem with mounting the amp and BFD in the manifold.
I'd expect to mount them vertically on the bottom of the cube. Obviously the box would still be sealed, but it would be a nice clean all in one solution (just a RCA jack in the wall and everything else built in the manifold.
Any problems with exposing the amps/BFD to mechanical vibration or SPL?

Any time you submit electronic equipment to vibration, you increase the failure rate. Inside of a manifold is NOT a place that is 'good' for ANY electronic equipment...
Clean, yes, good idea, no.

Whenever possible it's best to keep the electronics isolated from the mechanical vibrations of the sub.
Solder joints, PCB traces, etc., live longer when in a relatively protected atmosphere.
And as shown by high-end loudspeaker designs with crossovers in separate enclosures (think Avalon, Wilson Audio, et al) the sound quality is better when components are isolated from the sound waves.
