I have a general question about a possible location for IB subs. I am currently building the front wall of my home theater room. It is a fake or second wall placed approx. 8" inside the outside wall. One location for the IB subs that I am considering is installing the subs directly below the fronts (left and right). The attached Jpeg (if it is legible) shows the framing for a 120" diagonal screen with 21" x 24" block-outs for the left, right, and center speakers. The L/R/C speakers are Boston Acoustics BT2's. I am considering installing 2 - 18's below the front left speaker and 2-18's below the front right speaker. My question is - Is this location for the subs generally accepted as a good location with regards to acoustics and not interfering with the sound coming from the front speakers? I am also considering installing a floor manifold. This HT/recreation room is on a second story and is above a 6 car garage. Thanks in advance for any advice. Attachments:

Welcome Spend a bit more time reading the reference pages, FAQ, etc, here at The Cult. Determine if that space is suitable for an IB application volumetrically. Also, whether it'd be strong enough to resist reactive motion from the driver excursion, as this is almost certainly going to be a significant issue. Also, acoustic suitability is a question as well. Be glad to help if you'd like to move forward.
