I just had a chance to watch Batman Begins in the home theater. Wow. That movie is *by far* the most bass-intensive film I've ever auditioned. It blows away any of my other "favorites" - Spiderman 2, BHD, SPR, Master & Commander, I Robot, etc.
If you want to give your IB a real workout, try this movie. It's unreal. - my hair was vibrating some 15' from my 4x18 Avalanche IB line array throughout almost the entire movie.

Odd, I didn't hear anything under ~40hz when I saw it in IMAX.
I'll see about doing some spectrographs of it. Were there any particular scenes that stand out?

Pretty much the entire film...
According to the directors commentary, they remixed the audio for home theater - I guess the director, Nolan, is a HT buff. I heard elsewhere that in one scene, there's a 2Hz signal -- something about "scarecrow." But that phrase is used a lot in the film, so I can't pinpoint it any better.
This was the first time I saw it -- going to have some people over this weekend to watch it again, and I'll try to note any spectacular scenes.

i watched that movie with one of my homemade horn subs, and it blew me away in the way that the bass was "arranged" if you will. I remember hearing that they spent extra time souping up the LFE channel for the DVD version of batman begins.

Which really add to the drama of film watching. If you have peaks in your response you tend to set the sub at the level of the loudest peaks and miss everything else that is happening in the bass. Get cracking with REW and BFD. My IB runs 2 pairs of AE IB15s for 8 Ohm per channel using the EP2500. I'm now too afraid to have the IB play any louder even without LFE! Watching films like LOTR is simply exhausting. I ought to buy Batman Begins. I hired the film before I finally sorted out my EP2500's input signal level. Now I even get 3 bars lighting up on my BFD! (Very occasionally) ;D

yeah gotta get time to set up the fbd and play with it will do most of the finishing touchs today on the array install and hopefully get some pics up on here in the next couple of weeks ib's are starting to get more heard of now in audio communities here ( aussie's) and hopefully more people will get into it btw my waf actually approves of the array as it only protudes into the room 250mm and is the same width as our 100" screen , so its nice and symetrical to her cheers ken

Great stuff, ken. We want to see pictures! Cult motto: No pictures? It didn't happen.
