Well, Im slowly learning about subs and now looking to leap into IB. I have 2 ported boxes with SI18s powered by a inuke3000dsp amp. After doing some reading, it looks like I should be able to reuse my setup. I know its not ideal, but it will work. Im hoping to not spend a bunch more money (just spent $800 for a pair of main speakers). My plan is to use the attic. I have plenty of space over my living room. The front of the room appears to be the best to get the harmonious sound with the mains (so I read in the design faq) though its closer to the HVAC equipment. The HVAC stuff is all suspended off the attic floor though. Below is a picture of my living room. Its open to the office, dining, kitchen (my estimate 5000cuft). The HVAC runs directly over the red can lights in the picture so I should be able to put the hole in the ceiling spaced evenly in the room. The equipment: (2) Stereo Integrity 18D4 Inuke 3000dsp amp Denon X1000 Im just planning on 2 but will probably make the manifold for 4. I really think these 2 subs in the ported boxes are enough. Any suggestions or precautions? Attachments:

Hi,
Thanks for the floor plan.
Only thing I can think of is that you're probably going to be wanting for more low frequency output with the drivers mounted in an IB compared to having those same drivers in ported boxes.
As long as you understand the above I think you're good to go.

Thanks for the reply... I figured 2 would be a good start. Later on (if money permits) I could swap out to FI318s or try and find a matching set of used SI18s
Well, I crawled around in the attic and I might be able to do it as planned. I just need to move some a/c ducting.
