Hi guys, I've been searching for replacement foam surrounds for the original run of Acoustic Elegance IB-15 using the Lambda parts. I've spoken to John, and he doesn't have access to these surrounds anymore, and they are different from the new ones as these have the flat inner lip. He would be able to recone them entirely, but I've got six (6) of these 25lb drivers to ship from Canada to the US and back. I measured the surround specs but some dimensions are hard to get (like the Roll Height): Surround OD - 367mm (14-7/16") Cone OD - 306mm (12-1/16") Surround ID - 290mm (11-7/16") Roll width - 23mm (15/16") Roll height - ± 14mm (9/16") I bought these back in 2006 I believe, and the surround have simply dried up. Do you know of anyone else who ran into these problems, and what they did? Thanks in advance, ROb

Thanks Thomas, I wrote to a bunch of part suppliers, and two of them suggested this JL Audio replacement part for a woofer with a flat cone attachment. Simply Speakers had told me that didn’t have a replacement part for my woofers, but your link reminded me to go back there and verify if they had the same JL Audio surround, and they do, and it’s the closest match. The interesting thing is these three retailers must be using entirely different manufacturers because the dimensions vary more then I would have expected given these are all for the same driver. I made a quick chart with the sizes, and I’m thinking I should go with the closest dimensional match, and not the least expensive... ROb

I had the same issue a few years back. This was the first run of AE IB15s with the phase plug from 2005/2006. I was able to get new surrounds replaced at a local shop in San Jose CA. Sounds Unique www.soundsunique.com/contact.php He did the work for me, but he may be willing to send you the parts. Good luck. Derek
