Working on my first IB install. The back wave will be in an attic space. Does anyone try to insulate the back side of the drivers? I don't want insulation right up against the drivers. I was thinking of something like a wire mesh "box" like area behind the drivers that has unbacked rockwool insulations on the outside of the wire mesh. Besides keeping the room temp stable, I thought this might help with any condensation or moisture issues on the back side of the drivers. We have cold winters and hot humid summers. I don't think 4-6" of unbacked rockwool insulation will effect the sound at all. That should be pretty transparent acoustically at sub frequencies.

How many times have you seen ice/condensation in your attic? This would be unusual given the environment of most attics. Since the idea is to have no restrictions behind the drivers the insulation 'blanket' should be a fair distance from the drivers.
My suggestion is to build the IB live with it and see if any of these worries appear, then deal with them
