Anyone using the Mini DSP units to EQ IB setups?
It seems like a decent tool. I am just not sure how low it can tune (<20hz?).

First you should double check that your current amp does not have a high pass filter. If it does you need to replace your amp with one that does not have that. Fighting one EQ setting with an opposing EQ setting never results in high fidelity. Those filters are built into most amps. It is a protective approach used by most manufacturers. I have Emotiva and reached out to them directly about this specific concern. They ping ponged me to an actual engineer. They do indeed have hpf’s built in. I don’t remember the specific but something like 18 hz with a 24 db rolloff Remember, few people use IB’s. That means that few amps have the ability to go down to 8 hz, etc. The amp market does not cater to the exception. I used my mini DSP for this exact purpose for many years. Then I added 4 more SVS SB-3000’s and I decided to utilize the EQ built into my Beherenger Inuke 3000 amp. It is just my opinion, but I think the EQ is better going through my Beherenger (post # 10). From my research I determined that Beherenger has no hpf. Did you know that REW can provide the input changes required by mini DSP (around 13:40) in order to obtain a house curve?

I am currently looking at behringer amps. Was considering the EP or NX series.
Are you saying the behringer dsp is all you are using? Or a mini dsp and the behringer dsp?

I used a minidsp for several years. Monkeyed with the settings so many times. I bypassed all the EQ settings on the Behringer. The thinking was that the minidsp was better (marketing got me). But I tinker with my HT a lot. I never felt that the bass was epic enough. So I tried using the EQ in the minidsp along with the Behringer, but that made no improvements to my ear. So about a year ago I started researching the capabilities of the Behringer and decided to give it a go. That article I posted showing how to bump up the bass in the sub 10 hz region was the answer (for me). I wanted the infrasonics, but with the other approaches it seemed to increase unwanted bass higher up. With the Behringer EQ I was able to improve the sub 10 hz range without increasing the bass above 20 hz. I like the 2x4 a lot. For about a year I used it instead of the EQ built into the SVS SB-3000’s that I have. But after a while I got lazy and wanted to stop going into the basement to make changes to it. I started using the built in EQ that is app controlled in my 3000’s. I could not tell a difference other than it was a whole lot easier to make changes via the app. Note that my equipment room is in the basement. The single only piece of equipment in the HT is my Blu Ray player.
