We should add the SSD series subs to the comparison chart. These seem to get overlooked by the Q18 and the Mach 5 drivers.
Driving myself crazy trying to find a driver to fit my situation I decided to just do some calculations and find out what driver has the best $$$/Displacement ratio. Naturally for many people it has been the Mach5 18". But for me the Mach 5 has a $43/L ratio when shipping is factored in (and that's if I buy 4 and get the discount).
The SSD18 has the best ratio at $38/L with a displacement of 6.229L.
The SSD15 has the second best at $43/L with a displacement of 4.8138L.
My question is... Why do these drivers get overshadowed by the Q series and the Mach 5 drivers?
Obviously the Q series is the top of the line and cream of the crop but besides a little added Xmax and displacement, is there any other reason to go with the Q series over the SSD if the SSD provides you enough displacement?

Interesting - I did the conversion of the displacement and got the same numbers Jeff did:
0.17 ft3 = 4.81L 0.22 ft3 = 6.23L
I updated the comparison chart to reflect these, but maybe you know something Thomas that we don't about these drivers.

Hmm... I thought I did it right...although i'm not quite as experienced as many of you here. Perhaps one of you can double check for us... www.ficaraudio.com

What is involved in F1's configuration for IB use?
Thanks

According to my calc, 1210cm2 x 4.2cm = 5.08ltrs for SSD The Q18 has same Sd and xmax as Avalanche 18 which is 6.53L

The SSD18 series is still a good value at $47.05/L ($239/5.08L). It fall right below the Q18 at $45.47. I love my pair of Q18's. It's almost tooo much. The SSD line would have probably done me just fine. I didn't realize just how loud 105 db is. My walls start flexing, pictures rattle, glasses on the bar vibrate at a volume around ~102db. Much more than that and the WAF goes waaayyy down.

There was mention of adjustments in the construction of this driver to have a lower Q for IB. What is the Q for the Fi18 IB drivers? For that matter what are the rest of the TS params?
