Need to know more about the space where the sub will be used.
That driver if the specs are right has a very low Qts. Not ideal for IB.

Oh poppycock! low qts can be dealt with. especially with the atlas drivers. They have a "dummy" VC that depending how it is configured will raise qts However only a pair of 12s will lack any real output unless it is a small room.

The drivers will be above the "stage" area in the attic with the opening in the ceiling. On the T/S specs I will have to contact Chad or Dale over at Ascendant to get them again. I though those were the number for the Atlas 12, But as I said in the opening thread, I was not completely shure. Here is a pic of location. It's a top view:

If there is a cheap option to replace the 12's I already have please suggest. Otherwise I'd like to stay with the Atlas 12's until the budget allows it.

Thanks. Then what would be an inexpensive option, driver wise, to move into the IB world ?

What do you consider 'inexpensive'?
And are you locked into using 12" drivers or can you go larger?

Ask TC-Sounds if the 15" TC-1000s are available, if so there's nothing close to that price for a good 15"s. The Qts is too low, but getting the DVC version allows you to raise the "Q" just like you could with the Atlas 12"s www.tcsounds.com/tc1000.htm

Doesn't look like it's available If I increase my budget slightly for the drivers (take from my amp budget). What other good options in 15" might I have that won't break the bank ??

Any other inexpensive 15" driver recommendation? TC Sounds' won't answer emails or their phones.
I'll look into the MAW-15

Try eBay, Cerwin Vega HED 15's model up pretty well for an IB and you can get a pair for about 200 shipped.

People need to stop ragging on TC-Sounds. They're not a big company. They only recently launched direct sales and they're having teething problems as a result of the popularity of the drivers.
If you're that impatient I can turn you on to other companies, but you'll pay twice as much.
Which would you prefer?
