Just curious as to how much power everyone is using. I am running an Adcom at 650 watts to 2-15" Avalanches.

I run 1520W @ 2ohms to 4 AV12s. I may try them wired with an 8ohm load to see if it'll change anything.

I have an ancient JonMarsh built prosound amp on the big IB (12 drivers), it's about 300/channel into a 3 ohm load. That setup is so efficient the amp never gets warm to the touch.
My small 4 driver IB is running off an old Adcom 555

1500w to 4 TC2+ 12" DVC drivers at 4 ohm's. 2 manifolds with 2 drivers each in stereo. 750w a side 325w each driver. Thats at full power of course which could never be used in a IB install as its a little too much power and over excursion would occur.

I use a K2 with my 4 tempest IB. I only use one voice coil per driver and have each pair of drivers connected in parallel to separate channels. Its probably over-kill but works nicely just loafing along. Lee

I've got a Crown xls 600 running in stereo 4 ohm mode to two avalanche 12's (soon to be four). That's 600 watts per channel. The gains are so low that the amp never breaks a sweat.

Wow! As of now there are 6 votes for 1500+ watts. I didn't realize we had such power animals on here!

Most people are posting the highest potential output their amps have. I think that most are using but a fraction of that available power in the day to day operation of their subs.

I'm sure you are right, but they always have that potential to turn it to 11. At those levels it would probably be something like.

I'm planning to use a lowly 250 watt PE plate amp with my 4 Atlas 15" IB. That's a whopping 62.5 watts/woofer. But what the heck ... I already had the thing sitting around collecting dust and I'm not sure I could've justified this project if I had to budget an extra $200 - $300 for an amp. Can't wait for the hot Texas summer to finally end so I can spend some quality attic time.

I have a single Parts Express IB15 in a baffle configuration with the expectation of adding on with time. It's being driven by an Audiosource monoblock Amp 5.1 70watts/channel @ 8 ohms. I keep it set at about 6.5/10. The bass is clean and phenomenal. Won't delaminate the floors but still is the best bass I've heard. ;D Thanks for all the great info on the forum!!!!

I will be using a QSC DCA-1622 to run 8 TC Sounds 15's. The amp can output 1600 watts, but it'll be running 500 x 2 @ 4 ohms.
Sims show I could put closer to 200 watts into each of the drivers before being excursion-limited at 11 Hz; I'm 'hoping' 125 apiece will be adequate... ;D

Whoah some unbelievably powerful amps here. I'm running an old Crown DC300A amp which is 135W per channel into 8 ohms. One channel is effed up so I'm running one channel into 4 ohms for my two Dayton 15" drivers. Probably 200+W into 4 ohms. It's enough to bottom the drivers (has happened once).

Sansui BA-F1 recently partially restored: 130 wpc into 8 ohms.
